10. Jänner. 2013

Yesterday...
Thursday Market

...Lammfleisch
Ah, the girl with a gluten allergy encounters the baked goods cart

"I think I want some Sauerkraut. ...Think I can get some at Sauerkraut Paradies?"

THURSDAY MARKETS ARE KEWL

You get the idea

So Hanna and I went to the Thursday Market after Fine Arts and perused.
After Fine Arts (10:30-12:00) I am done with classes on Thursday (the last day of my school week)
So Hanna and I went to the Thursday Market after my last class of the week,
and we perused.

Later, in continuation of our ideal-cafe search...

These are some storefronts/an inlet/thingy by my place of residence.

Cafe cameo complete!

Mememememe!

Running/exercising more than is comfortable--huzzah! New Year's rresolutions

Don't believe me? Check this out:

Man. it is hard to believe this what my face looks like after light exercise.
I mean, really?
A walk around the park and this is what happens?
Kidding. This was after a run.
But not an impressive one. (Have I ever had an 'impressive run'? ..mmm, negative)

Hanna and I have been checkin' out a new cafe everyday.
Finished Mrs. Dalloway--so.good.so freakin' good. Woolf does it agian. Whoa. ...Wow! Yeah.
Reading Siddhartha auf Deutsch. Sehr schwer. maybe I should stick to Fairy Tales
Reading The Elements of Style now, and lookin' into The Agony and the Ecstasy before our tour of Italy

Classes are so dull. so. dull.

BUT I am putting forth tremendous effort. TREMENDOUS. Really trying to digest Theology *crickets*

Anyway. Life is good. Salzburg is snow-less (weird)
and the first week of classes has proved, in my opinion, successful.
More later.
hopefully more stimulating posts to come

Home for the holidays was much needed, but it is SOOOO GOOD to be back

2013 Resolutions:
-Speak more German
-Run a 10k with Rose
-Vegan :)
-Good grades
-Explore Salzburg

Winter in Salzburg pt. 1

Winter in Salzburg.
Christmas markets, ice skating, snow wrestling und EIN KRAMPUUUUUS!

Nicole, John H, John W, Chelsea, Grace and I went iceskating :)
I was going to skate through John's legs, because I'm a gold-medal athlete

Clearly I owned the ice...

Chelsea and I made passersby stop their Christmas shopping and stare in awe--double axels, triple axels, quintuple axels, etc.

Skating was fun, although in the Altstadt the rink wasn't an ice rink but this synthetic plastic stuff, so it was slower and drier than your average skate (because I am such an experienced, ballin' blader I know what an 'average' skate is).

Winter in Salzburg smells awesome and makes you want to buy all the things.

ORNAMENTS

Nicole and I met EIN KRAMPUS!!
Choir e'rry night--droppin' carols like it's hawt
Christmas lights--view of the Festung, Salzburg's 11th century fortress

Closed Christmas Markets!

Christmas lights on one of the bridges crossing the Salzach

Salzburg was definitely hard to leave, especially at the most wonderful time of the year, but I have made it home for Christmas :)

P.S All these pics are Wee-Nicole's!
